Compensation: Up to £65,000 dependent on experience

The role

As a Reactor Manager (AMLRP), you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The SSN Submarine Production Group based in Devonport Dockyard and will operate out of a newly developed dock facility, the department is growing to meet the significant future demands of the SSN maintenance program. This future demand sees the requirement for the current team to expand over the next 5 years with opportunities to progress within the team and build a career in submarine delivery.

Day-to-day, you’ll support SSN deep maintenance periods in accordance with MOD requirements.

* To lead, coach and develop the teams in operational excellence building future success and sustainability.
* To manage the health, safety and environmental requirements within their area of responsibility.
* Manage production resources as required by the Production Manager in order to meet the time/cost/quality demands of the A Class MLRP utilising the project delivery framework.
* Ensures that all allocated resources are suitable qualified and experienced for the tasking allocated & maintain the Nuclear Base Line
* Maintain and succession plan group talent to ensure future SQEP.
* Act as the Duly Authorised Person for the section.

Please note that this position involves working in confined spaces. Candidates must be able to work comfortably and perform tasks in restricted spaces.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at the Devonport Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Reactor Manager (AMLRP)

* The applicant will be required to lead/work on-board Submarines / confined spaces / Radiological areas.
* The applicant will have an excellent understanding of Health and Safety and nuclear safety processes.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
* An excellent understanding of nuclear systems is required, along with experience in refitting/maintenance of the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant.

Qualifications for the Reactor Manager (AMLRP)

* NVQ Level 4 in Engineering or equivalent.
* ILM Level 3 or equivalent.
* Duly Authorised Persons Course (if not already held, must have the ability to obtain).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
