Heritage Portfolio is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Baker to join our team at the Central Production Kitchen in Leith, Edinburgh. We operate within some of Scotland’s leading cultural destinations, including Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, V&A Dundee, Mansfield Traquair, the Signet Library, and Perth and Musselburgh Racecourses.
With an emphasis on fresh, seasonal, made-from-scratch cooking, our in-house Bakery supplies retail venues across Edinburgh and Dundee with traybakes, biscuits, muffins, mini loaves, large decorated cakes, and some specialty afternoon tea items. We bake between 5,000-7,000 pieces of cake weekly, so efficient planning and execution are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and passion for baking and previous supervisory experience in a similar environment.
Role Responsibilities
* Maintain a focus on food allergens and customer information at all times.
* Ensure high standards of food quality according to specifications.
* Assist with ordering, stocktaking, and order management in coordination with retail sites.
* Assist in planning weekly bakery production to meet all requirements.
* Support the Kitchen Manager in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety practices.
* Support the team to uphold all Health and Safety legislation, including HACCP, Safeguard/EHO visits, Fire Evacuation procedures, First Aid, and safe working practices.
