As a key leader within our business, you'll be responsible for overseeing multiple store locations, driving sales, and ensuring the highest standards of operational efficiency across the region.
Role Overview
As the Retail Area Manager, you will report directly to the Retail Operations Manager and work alongside a team of experienced retail professionals. You will be the driving force behind the success of a group of stores in the South of the UK and over seeing your Satellite Manager in the successful running of their concessions, ensuring both operational excellence and customer satisfaction at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Store Managers to drive high performance and achieve both individual and team targets. Foster a positive and productive culture within the stores.
Sales & Performance: Monitor and analyse store performance to ensure that KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are consistently met. Take proactive steps to improve sales and foot traffic.
Customer Experience: Champion excellent customer service and ensure that all stores are delivering a seamless shopping experience. Drive customer loyalty through exceptional service and product knowledge.
Operational Excellence: Ensure stores are fully compliant with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards. Take responsibility for stock control, store standards, and efficient merchandising.
Strategic Planning: Work closely with senior management to develop and implement regional business strategies. Use data and insights to drive improvements in operational processes, sales, and productivity.
Budgeting & Financials: Oversee regional budgets, ensuring stores operate efficiently and cost-effectively. Ensure stores achieve financial targets and maximise profitability.
Training & Development: Lead training initiatives for your team, ensuring consistent development and progression opportunities for all staff members. Support succession planning within the region.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Store Manager, multi Store Manager or similar role in a retail environment, preferably in homeware or related sectors.
A proven track record in achieving sales targets and leading teams to success.
Strong understanding of retail operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and health & safety.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and coach a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships across different teams and regions.
A passion for homeware and an in-depth understanding of customer needs within the sector.
Ability to travel across your assigned area regularly (the option of a company car or car allowance is available).
