Role
Obtain blood samples from patients by venepuncture, ensuring patient and personal safety through adherence to Divisional Protocols, Policies, Procedures, and relevant Health and Safety legislation. Correctly label samples for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect blood samples safely and accurately.
* Label samples appropriately before forwarding to the laboratory.
* Provide cover in the absence of nursing or medical staff to ensure collections are taken.
Legal and Compliance Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate the right to work in the United Kingdom. The role requires a valid Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership or a satisfactory record with Disclosure Scotland, subject to regulatory group requirements.
Qualifications
* Experience in venepuncture or similar blood collection duties preferred.
* Knowledge of NHS policies, procedures, and Health and Safety legislation.
* Ability to work safely and responsibly in a clinical setting.
