Sedgemoor Manor School are looking to recruit an outstanding ICT Teacher to join our Teaching team! We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs. We are looking for a Teacher who is able to teach ICT and Computer Science up to GCSE. The ability to teach some Design and Technology (DT) would be advantageous but not essential.

Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 7 and 18 years. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a ‘cycle of failure’ and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a ‘culture of success’. We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives.

You will be required to carry out the professional duties covered by the latest School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

* The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in line with the professional standards for qualified teachers and uphold the professional code of the General Teaching Council for England.
* Teach a class of young people, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
* Have significant experience of using recognised and appropriate teaching strategies for our students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Provide timely and accurate reports to all stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Governors (as required) and parents / carers.
* Keep accurate up to date records of assessments of learning and progress of each student and match against aspirational and appropriate targets.
* Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Work cohesively with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educational schemes of work.
* Provide the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding.
