Your new role
You will join a major infrastructure project in the region, supporting the highways division. You will be part of a successful team of Project Managers, Agents, and Engineers contributing to a £100 million project that aims to improve Norwich's infrastructure.
Your Duties:
1. Maintain an independent position from the delivery team to ensure objective technical judgment. Intervene during significant changes to construction methodology, sequencing, temporary works, or when risks to permanent works are identified.
2. Promote high-quality, safe, and innovative engineering solutions with a focus on low-carbon and sustainable practices across all project phases.
3. Oversee all technical aspects of construction, ensuring compliance with relevant processes, procedures, and standards for both temporary and permanent works.
4. Lead the implementation of Skanska's Digital Journey by ensuring the exclusive use of 3D design models for project delivery and oversee the digital handover process.
5. Oversee the project's Quality Assurance processes, ensuring all engineering outputs meet standards. Manage project-related information and data for accuracy and traceability.
6. Approve major permits such as 'to dig', 'to load', and 'to strike'. Liaise with the materials management team to address the technical aspects of material selection and use.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Actively working towards Chartered Membership with the ICE or an equivalent professional body (essential).
2. Strong background in construction delivery (essential).
3. Design management experience, especially in multidisciplinary environments.
4. Engineering management experience (desirable).
5. Exposure to temporary works design or coordination (desirable).
6. Experience in highway engineering or infrastructure projects (desirable).
