Established in 1977 as a small tutorial college, today Bosworth is a leading independent school in the UK catering for boarding and day students from Year 7 upwards. Bosworth is a relatively small school of approximately 200 students, the majority of whom are boarders from overseas, though the school has a small cohort of day students who benefit from being at a school that is proudly international in character. We pride ourselves on the individualised support we give to our students across all Key Stages. Staff know students well, care deeply, and are committed to doing their utmost to ensure every student thrives and attains their very best.

ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Physics to join the Science Department at Bosworth Independent School. This post is available with immediate effect, though we can offer flexibility on the start date for the right candidate. At Bosworth, the Science Department sits at the heart of our vibrant learning community. With students from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds, the Sciences are popular subject choice with our students, who are polite, motivated, and eager to learn. Class sizes vary: GCSE classes have an average of 8 students, Year 12 classes around 16, while our current Year 13 Physics class has three students. This allows teachers to spend time with individual students, ensuring that concepts are explored and understood fully, whilst giving ample opportunities for students to ask questions.
Joining the Science department means becoming part of a supportive, experienced and friendly team of teachers. Practical work is at the heart of science teaching at Bosworth Independent School. All GCSE and A Level Science lessons are taught in purpose-built laboratories, and our team of teachers is supported by three highly-skilled science technicians who each specialises in one of the three sciences.
We are passionate about our subjects and committed to sharing best practice, inspiring students through high-quality classroom practice as well as enrichment opportunities such as off-site visits and nationally recognised competitions such as the British Physics Olympiad. Professional development is a priority: staff benefit from a wide range of CPD opportunities to strengthen their expertise and explore new approaches to teaching and learning.
Physics is taught at both GCSE and A Level following the AQA specification, and we also deliver a subject-specific University Foundation Programme (UFP), with full support provided for teachers involved. We also teach Key Stage 3 Science following the Pearson Exploring Science International curriculum.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring teacher who can teach Physics up to and including A Level but who would also be confident in teaching all three of the Science disciplines to GCSE level. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
