Overview
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is seeking a C-CATT Team Leader to support CYPMHS Crisis Team across two acute hospital sites in Watford and Stevenage, and to support the C-CATT community site in Radlett. The post is a full-time 37.5 hours per week, 1 year fixed term contract (secondment would be considered).

The successful candidate will be an inspirational clinician with the appropriate professional qualification and experience to lead in a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the development and implementation of a high-quality service for children and young people in acute phases of mental illness, and their carers.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work under the supervision of the Community CAMHS Manager (CCM) for C-CATT and will deputise and carry out delegated roles, duties and responsibilities as required. You will be part of the C-CATT Leadership Team and have opportunities to influence team and service development. You are expected to have a good understanding of Key Performance Indicators and managing throughput. You will support and lead in the clinical work, including duty and shift leading over-seeing crisis care of young people presenting in mental health crisis.
To work in ways that are sensitive to the needs of families from diverse racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. This includes the ability to understand and offer therapeutic interventions to a variety of family forms including single parents, same-sex couples and their families, extended families, foster carers and people with mental health difficulties.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for establishing and maintaining team systems and processes for the effective operation of the team, including outcome measurements, audit and annual service policy review. The post holder will provide operational and clinical leadership within the C-CATT Leadership team and deliver interventions to children, young people and families with complex emotional, psychological and behavioural needs. The post holder will be accountable to the Operational Manager for service delivery, bring together all components to ensure patient safety, improved service user experience, clinical outcomes, quality and performance standards, and will deputise for the Operational Manager when required. They will work within professional guidelines and under the clinical/professional supervision of senior clinicians and support the clinical development of team members. They will promote participation of service users and carers in their care and in service planning and development. The post holder will contribute to research, audit and evaluation for service development and provide clinical/professional supervision to trainees, junior staff and multidisciplinary colleagues. They will take clinical and line management responsibility for clinical staff to deliver a high-quality, young person-focused service. They will work in partnership with Local Authority colleagues – attending strategic multi-agency LA meetings and complex needs panels. Person Specification
Knowledge/Training/Experience
* Relevant professional registration as per person specification
* Evidence of CPD
* NMC registration as Mental Health Nurse or equivalent
* Specialist training in an appropriate area and knowledge of CYPMH and Crisis Care
Experience and Knowledge
* Post-qualification experience in a CAMHS team or related area, or several years before qualification, with experience of working with moderate to severe mental health problems and knowledge of a range of clinical interventions with children/adolescents and their carers/families
* Experience of multi-disciplinary team working and inter-agency collaboration, with some knowledge of social care services and legislation
* Knowledge of child development and CAMHS, and understanding of a range of theoretical approaches
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
* Ability to provide consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
* Good knowledge of the literature and research concerning mental health interventions with children, especially clinical effectiveness
* Knowledge of Child Protection Procedures
* Experience of service quality monitoring (clinical audit, evaluative research, etc.)
Communication Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to communicate complex, clinically sensitive information to clients, families, carers and colleagues
