Support and Protect

Pay rate: £50 per hour
Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker looking for career progression? Pertemps Profession Recruitment is seeking qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Support and Protect team. As part of this authority’s Support and Protect service, you will work in a busy, supportive team assessing and working with vulnerable children and their families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage.
It is essential that you have child protection and court experience. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support for children and families when social care involvement is no longer necessary.
Successful candidates must be able to attend the locality for 3 days in the area, 2 days from home, 5 days per week with no condensed days, including 1 week every 5 weeks where you are required to be in every day for duty.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.

Ideal candidate will be:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* SW, CSS, DipSW or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
* Experience in a Social Services Directorate or similar statutory or voluntary agency.
* Constantly striving for continuous improvement to achieve the best outcomes for individuals and families.
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
* Experience working with a range of client groups within an agency.
* Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
* Committed to providing high-quality services.
* Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
* Knowledge of legislation related to general social work practice.
* 4+ years of qualified experience.
In this role, you will:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
* Manage an agreed caseload.
* Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
* Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students to foster development.
