Health and Fitness Duty Officer
Location: Hamilton Water Palace, Almada Street, Hamilton
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary Band: £35,381 - £36,365 per year
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm (to be confirmed at interview)
Duration: Fixed Term until 31st March 2027
Overview
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Hamilton Water Palace as a Health and Fitness Duty Officer. The role involves assisting the Recreation Officer in the management of day-to-day operations, ensuring staff are managed, developed and reviewed, delivering staff training, maintaining high facility standards, improving customer retention, and working with the Health Team to deliver health programmes within the local community. Outreach work is also required.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for financial processes, including payroll, ordering, cash management, and assist in maintaining budgets and trading activities.
* Ensure staff are effectively managed, developed and reviewed to deliver the operation of the facilities.
* Undertake project work involved with events, building equipment and marketing within predetermined timescales.
* Provide customer care to high standards in line with the Business Plan and SLLC Strategy.
* Deliver training.
* Work some evenings and weekends (shift pattern to be confirmed).
Qualifications
* A current BACR (British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation) or PSI (Postural Stability Instructor) qualification is desirable.
* A Level 2 Gym instructor or equivalent qualification is essential.
