Team Leader- Complex ABI Support Package 36 hours per week| Permanent | Must hold a full UK Driving Licence Pay rate: £16.50 per hour plus 25 per mile - Weekly or Monthly pay available Shift pattern: 08.00-20.00 and 20.00-08.00 Location: Wotton-under- Edge We are recruiting Team Leader to provide on-shift leadership within a highly complex, 24/7 support package for a young man with an Ac quired Brain Injury (ABI). A bit about him He's very active, and walking is a big part of his routine.Some days he'll do 20,000 steps, so this role requires someone who is physically fit, energetic, and happy to be on the move most of the day. He lives in a remote area, so a full UK driving licence is essential. Youll be using his vehicle to support him in the community. He enjoys getting out, having a laugh, and talking things through.He wants support workers who will engage with him, take him seriously, and support his goals not just observe from the side lines. At times, He can become frustrated or overwhelmed, which may lead to challenging behaviour .Its important you have experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and can remain calm, consistent, and respectful under pressure. We are looking for a confident and experienced Team Leader to manage a dedicated support package in. This is a blended role, combining 12 hours of off-rota leadership and management duties with 24 hours of direct support each week. What youll be doing As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring consistency, quality and stability across the team, working closely with operational and clinical colleagues. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management (12 hours per week, off rota) Lead and supervise a team of support workers, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback. Manage staff performance, training compliance, and professional development. Oversee rotas, care plans, risk assessments, and accurate record keeping. Uphold CQC standards and organisational policies, ensuring safe and compliant practice. Run regular team meetings, lead debriefs after incidents, and escalate to CCMs when required. Direct Support (24 hours per week, on rota) Provide on-shift leadership and direction to Support Workers Be physically fit and active Oversee recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance management of the support team Ensure consistent implementation of care plans and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies Act as a key point of contact for all stakeholders Maintain regular communication with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) and family to support a collaborative, person-centred approach Monitor quality, risk, and incidents, ensuring appropriate reporting and continuous improvement Ensure accurate recording, documentation, and handovers About You We're looking for confident, resilient, experienced individuals who can lead from the front and have experience in: Previous Leadership experience within Health and Social Care Significant experience supporting individuals with ABI and/or complex needs Strong working knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) The ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional under pressure Model best practice and embed a strong person-centred culture in daily care. Build positive relationships with the individual and their family to support continuity of care. Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence- due to nature of the role acuity care delivers specialist support across Brain Injury, Spinal Injury, Learning Disability & Autism, and Mental Health Services.
