Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Healthcare team at HMP Gartree, a Category B prison in Leicestershire. The role supports males aged 21+, many over 40, and offers the chance to develop the on‑site psychology services alongside an experienced integrated mental health team and established psychotherapist. This position is suitable for an experienced psychologist familiar with adult mental health presentations, neuro‑diversity and historic trauma, who is comfortable with trauma‑informed approaches and enjoys working as part of a team.
Hours
Part‑time: 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, 22.5 hours per week.
Salary
Annual salary up to £67,340 (FTE) depending on experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a qualified, HCPC registered Psychologist, your responsibilities include:
* Provide clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) through training, supervision and reflective practice
* Undertake psychological assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary formulations
* Deliver and oversee 1:1 psychological interventions and group interventions as part of the Trauma‑Informed “Making Sense” Programme
* Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
* Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation and research activities as appropriate
* Develop and implement evidence‑based trauma‑informed treatment programmes and policies
* Supervise junior/trainee psychologists and other therapists

Requirements and Qualifications
* Qualified clinical, counselling or forensic psychologist
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Postgraduate qualification or training in at least one mode of psychological therapy relevant to people with severe and long‑standing mental health difficulties
* Experience of providing evidence‑based psychological interventions
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with trauma‑informed practice
* Legal right to work in the UK; role subject to additional vetting and security checks
