Your new role
As a Traffic Signals Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of traffic signal schemes ranging from new installations to refurbishments and upgrades. You will support a growing design team working across National Highways and local authority frameworks.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Producing technically sound traffic signals designs, calculations, drawings and documentation
2. Delivering designs in line with programme, cost and quality requirements
3. Identifying and managing design risks in accordance with CDM regulations
4. Liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical queries
5. Supporting and overseeing junior engineers where appropriate
6. Contributing to bid submissions and wider work-winning activities
7. Promoting and embedding effective health and safety practices
This role can be based from multiple regional offices with hybrid work available.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Proven experience in traffic signals design, ideally from an assistant or design engineer role
9. Working knowledge of traffic signals design standards, processes and procedures
10. Strong AutoCAD and KeySignals capability
11. Experience using LINSIG for junction modelling
12. Ability to produce detailed signal designs, including controller configuration forms
13. Exposure to Factory and Site Acceptance Testing andmissioning
14. Knowledge of SCOOT UTC and/or MOVA design and validation (desirable)
15. Understanding of CDM Regulations and design risk management
