Associate Business Architect Full time / Part time Salary : £42,593 - £48,245, with potential for further progression to £54,317 with our pay progression scheme. Location: Flexible Contracted to our Wilmslow, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff or Belfast office, however, through hybrid working we offer flexible home and office-based working opportunities. Job Summary The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Lead Business Architect to ensure the alignment of business strategies with technology initiatives. The role will focus on understanding the ICO’s goals and objectives, helping to translate them into actionable plans, collaborating with the Transformation and Delivery team. Job Description The role will require collaboration with a variety of stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, helping to identify gaps and opportunities in current processes. The role will contribute to the design and implementation of effective business architecture roadmaps and operating models that drive organisational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction. Through research and analysis, the role will provide insight into industry trends to help inform strategic decision making. The role is designed for someone looking to build a career in Business Architecture, offering opportunities for personal development and professional growth within the ICO. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Understand and apply business architecture principles, techniques, and tools to business challenges Assist the Lead Business Architect in analysing business processes to identify areas for improvement and optimisation Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document and validate business requirements and design solutions Support the development of business architecture models to map out current and future state processes Participate in workshops and meetings to facilitate discussions on business needs and objectives, breaking down complexity Help in the creation of business case documentation and impact assessments Support resolution of design issues and ensure efficient design governance Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for Senior Leadership Bring together disconnected information to inform decision making Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, using clear language and artefacts To play an active role in the ICO Architecture community and related communities of practice To help to build a diverse, inclusive culture across the architecture community, growing awareness, inclusivity and balance To work with other architects, colleagues and peers to define standards and guidance around best practice To engage and network with people across the ICO up to Director level to understand their needs and ensure they are aligned with the Enterprise Architecture vision About you Essential criteria assessed at application stage Experience relevant to the role requirements, as described in the role responsibilities and person specification, and accumulated through any combination of academic or vocational qualifications or experience. Experience of developing business solutions across a range of different use cases. Ability to analyse information to identify insights and apply them to strategy development or execution. Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity, creative problem solving and developing innovative solutions. Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders to meet organisational objectives. At least three years of experience in a Senior Business Analyst or Project Delivery role Essential criteria assessed at interview stage Knowledge of the data governance, protection and privacy landscape, regulations and obligations for data practitioners Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess business needs and propose solutions Familiarity with business process modelling and mapping techniques Ability to negotiate and persuade where necessary, whilst applying a highly ethical approach Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams Equality, diversity, and inclusion The ICO is committed to promoting and enhancing equality, diversity, and inclusion.
