You have a professional qualification in social work and are registered with Social Work England. You are skilled in building relationships with children and families and are committed to safeguarding and promoting their welfare. What the Job Involves As a Social Worker within Children’s Services, you will work in partnership with children and families to address their social, emotional, and environmental needs. You will assess risks and needs, coordinate services, and ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people. You will chair core groups, assess families' progress, support family group conferences, and initiate care proceedings when necessary. You will work with a Specialist Family Support team and a multi-disciplinary team where the trilogy of harm exists, engage in direct work, and maintain thoughtful records. Support is provided by a stable management team, ensuring adherence to timelines in proceedings for securing permanence for children. Skills Specialist knowledge of social work theories and practice Detailed understanding of child development and current legislation Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Interpersonal skills to relate to a wide range of people Effective organisational skills and ability to manage priorities Competency in working within a multidisciplinary team Strong IT skills Assessment skills for complex family situations Liaison and negotiation skills with agencies and service users Experience in child protection practice and procedures
