Kitchen Porter Somerset Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: 27000 Hours: per week An independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 13 to 18 in Street, Somerset. Catering for around 1,300 students daily, Millfield offers a broad educational experience with extensive academic, sporting and co-curricular programmes. We provide a core feeding offer of breakfast, lunch and supper, along with vibrant hospitality provision. This is a 52 week 5 days over 7 contract and operates, with additional weekend residential activity for boarders. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Somerset. You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness. Key skills: Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage Excellent customer service skills Great team player Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems. Operate industrial dishwasher We are looking for: Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential. Can do attitude. Organisation Skills. Knowledge / competencies: Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English. Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
