Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour
Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 actual (FTE £25,729.60 - £28,059.20)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only
We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Provision based in Cranborne.
The Role:
In this role, you will provide 1:1 and group support, act as a positive role model, and help students succeed both academically and personally.
The School are dedicated to supporting young people (ages 1116) create the lives they want for themselves. The students have a range of needs, including Autism and associated conditions, the provision provide high-quality teaching, personalised support, and integrated therapy in a safe, nurturing environment.
Set in beautiful grounds, the school uses its inspiring setting to create fun and engaging learning experiences that support both academic and personal growth.
Every day will be different from supporting lessons in the classroom to helping students with practical, vocational activities like Bushcraft, animal care, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and provide extra explanation where needed.
* Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
* Help students meet and exceed their Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) targets.
* Support positive behaviour management and adapt approaches to individual needs.
* Accurately record any incidents, accidents, or health & safety matters.
* Encourage students to take part in group activities, supporting social skills and friendships.
Experience:
* Hold GCSE Maths & English (grade 4 or equivalent)
* UK driving licence (due to the location of the school)
* Be patient, flexible, and committed to supporting young people.
* Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be positive, creative, and resilient when supporting a variety of needs.
* Experience working in Education or Care setting preferred
