What you’ll be doing: Instrumentation & Controls Technician * Carrying out fault-finding and maintenance on control systems, instrumentation, and furnace equipment (VIM, VAR, ESR, heat treatment lines, etc.). * Running compliance work — including calibrations, TUS and SAT testing. * Supporting PLC and Burner Management Systems fault diagnostics. * Creating and sticking to PPM schedules to keep plant uptime high. * Logging everything through the site CMMS and using it for diagnosis. * Collaborating with engineers, OEM partners, and the wider site team. * Suggesting improvements on spares, systems, and lean processes. What we’re looking for: Instrumentation & Controls Technician * Background in medium to heavy manufacturing or similar industrial setting. * Strong understanding of instrumentation, control logic, and diagnostics. * Ability to read electrical & mechanical schematics and trend recordings. * Comfortable with furnaces, sensors, calibration, and compliance routines. * PC literate and confident with CMMS tools. * Qualifications like NVQ, ONC, HNC, or equivalent in engineering.
