Oxfordshire County Council are appointing a Maternity Cover post to the role of Curator of Social History at the Oxfordshire Museum Service. The role supports the development, management, and public access to our extensive social history collection.
About the Role
The Curator of Social History co‑leads the Collections team with the Curator of Archaeology and works with staff, volunteers and the public. The post reports to the Museum Service Manager and is integral to the service’s management team and operations.
About You
You will bring demonstrable curatorial knowledge and expertise, a passion for making collections accessible to diverse audiences, and a strong understanding of best practice in collections‑based work, ideally within social history or mixed media settings. Experience in team leadership and the ability to manage and lead people are also required. You should be comfortable working independently and as part of the broader museum family.
