Tissue Manager

The Sarcoma Unit is seeking maternity cover for our Tissue Manager position. This role is responsible for translational projects carried out between the Royal Marsden Sarcoma Unit and the Institute of Cancer Research, and for overseeing the Sarcoma Unit EHE Biobank, GIST UK biobank and other translational sponsored studies.
Responsibilities
* Oversee and run translational projects between the Sarcoma Unit and the Institute of Cancer Research.
* Manage and recruit for the EHE Biobank and assist the Senior Clinical Trials Manager with oversight of RM/ICR sponsored translational studies focused on EHE.
* Liaise with staff across the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Cancer Research, maintaining close working relationships with the Sarcoma Team.
* Maintain compliance with the Human Tissue Act and regulatory policies governing clinical research, including GCP.
Qualifications
* Degree level education.
* Experience in applying the Human Tissue Act, regulatory compliance and policies governing clinical research, including GCP.
* Experience in specimen handling and working on translational studies.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with staff at all levels.
* Prior experience in clinical research within the NHS or university settings.
