The Legal Services Department is now looking to expand to support the implementation of the Police Scotland Estates Masterplan and are recruiting for a Senior Solicitor (Conveyancing).
Key responsibilities of the role of the Senior Solicitor (Conveyancing) include -
To assist the Chief Legal Officer in the effective delivery of professional legal advice and guidance to the Chief Constable, Senior Management and other members of Police Scotland and in the execution of legal work, with a focus on conveyancing and property law.
The post holder will be engaged in a wide variety of conveyancing transactions and the provision of advice in the area of property law including acquisitions and disposals, commercial lease work of a complex or important nature, licences to occupy and major Force projects.
Key skills and experience of the role of the Senior Solicitor (Conveyancing) include
Current unrestricted Practising Certificate from the Law Society of Scotland.
Educated to LLB Degree (Bachelor of Laws) or equivalent.
DIPLP (Diploma in Legal Practice), preferably with Public Administration is desirable.
Personal Qualities Essential
Effective negotiating and legal drafting skills.
Proven achievements in specific areas of Property Conveyancing, demonstrating relevant experience of Property Conveyancing legal work of a complex and important nature
