Role context
Join our Initial Response Team in Adult Social Care to support safeguarding adults across Barnsley. This is a fast-paced, rewarding role focused on screening safeguarding referrals, making timely decisions, and ensuring adults at risk receive support in line with the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Responsibilities
* Carry out face-to-face visits to understand people’s needs and assess risk.
* Provide guidance that supports adults at risk and works with South Yorkshire Police on reviewing DASH and Vulnerable Adult referrals.
* Triages incoming work to ensure adults are directed to the right service at the right time.
* Carry out high-quality assessments and work effectively with other agencies; interpret legislation; demonstrate understanding of the Care Act, MCA, equal opportunities, and anti-oppressive practice.
Qualifications and requirements
* Social work qualification and Social Work England registration (or awaiting registration).
* Experience of working with adults.
* Ability to carry out high-quality assessments, work with other agencies, and interpret relevant legislation.
