Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager (B2B Engineering / Manufacturing)
Starting Salary - £40,000 | Lichfield | Office-based | Occasional overseas travel
365 People are recruiting for a long-established UK engineering manufacturer used by industrial clients worldwide. The business operates in a niche, technical space, exports internationally through a strong distributor network, and has a track record of steady growth.
The company is investing in new products and expanding its commercial activity. This role sits at the heart of the sales function, supporting enquiries through to order and working closely with marketing activity and distributor engagement.
The role
You’ll support the sales cycle end-to-end and keep momentum on live opportunities:
* Deputise for the Sales & Marketing Manager during absence
* Process enquiries, quotations, and sales orders accurately and efficiently
* Liaise with a global network of customers, agents, and distributors
* Proactively chase open leads, progress opportunities, and help hold distributors to targets
* Keep the CRM up to date and produce regular sales reports (geo/intake, service sales, etc.)
* Manage shared sales inbox and allocate/respond appropriately
* Prepare key documentation: order acknowledgements, shipping paperwork, invoices, manuals, packing lists, bills of lading, etc.
* Support customer visits (onsite hospitality and coordination)
* Maintain website content / basic e-commerce administration
Marketing support
* Assist with campaigns, events, and trade shows
* Coordinate marketing materials (brochures, updates, newsletters)
* Support social content, website updates, basic SEO/email/digital activity
* Conduct light market research to spot trends and opportunities
What we’re looking for
* Experience in sales administration / sales coordination and/or marketing support within a B2B engineering/manufacturing environment
* Strong attention to detail, organisation, and follow-through
* Confident communicator (written + verbal) with customers and distribution partners
* Comfortable producing reports and managing multiple priorities
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
* Experience with CRM systems and basic digital tools (CMS such as WordPress is useful)
* Proactive, trustworthy, and happy to roll sleeves up in a small, close-knit team
