Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust’s Stroke & Neurosciences Directorate as Business Manager. We are a regional neuroscience centre providing emergency and planned inpatient and outpatient care for a population of over two million across north west London. Our services span the full pathway — from hyper‑acute stroke through to specialist neurology clinics.
Based primarily at Charing Cross Hospital, the directorate is home to one of London’s Hyper Acute Stroke Units (HASU), delivering rapid assessment, 24/7 thrombolysis (‘clot‑busting’) and access to advanced imaging and vascular, neurosurgical and neuroradiological interventions. The HASU cares for over 1,700 patients each year in a dedicated 20‑bed unit, typically for the first 72 hours following a stroke.
Our neurology service provides both emergency and elective care across subspecialties such as multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, epilepsy, neuro‑otology, headache, cognition and memory, neuromuscular disease and more. As part of a comprehensive stroke pathway, patients may receive mechanical clot retrieval (thrombectomy) where appropriate, in partnership with interventional neuroradiology. We also support the Trust’s major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital, with outpatient and follow‑up services delivered at both Charing Cross and St Mary’s.
