Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to work across our Older Peoples Functional and Organic Male Inpatient Wards in Oldham. Rowan is a 12 bedded functional male ward and Cedars is a 10 bedded dementia male ward. Your responsibilities will include managing a clinical caseload, conducting OT assessments, completing reports based on the Model of Human Occupation and supporting with individual and group interventions and activities. The post holder will need to have excellent communication skills in order to work effectively within both multi-disciplinary teams. You will receive regular supervision and support from a Band 6 Occupational Therapist and you will have CPD and training opportunities for your professional development. You will also be responsible for delegating to and supervising OT support staff. We are a supportive and expanding team, committed to delivering a quality in-patient service.

Qualifications
* Registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC
* Due to complete Occupational Therapy qualification
OT assessments
* To undertake occupational therapy assessments, addressing occupational performance, strengths and skills deficits, enabling the service user in areas of self-care, productivity and leisure.
* To collaboratively identify the goals of occupational therapy intervention with the service user as part of the overall care plan.
* To assess and actively manage individual activity and environmental risk to ensure the safety of the service user, self, colleagues and wider public, whilst recognising the right of the service user to take positive risks in promoting their recovery.
Group evidence-based interventions
* To plan and implement individual and/or group evidence-based interventions, in collaboration with the service user, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.
* To provide support and education to service users and carers regarding aspects of occupational therapy.
Managing caseload
* To take responsibility for prioritising own clinical case load.
