Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations/Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance and health and safety of our ice rink. The ideal candidate will ensure the facility is running smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while providing excellent customer service. This role involves working closely with the General Manager to support various administrative and operational tasks, with a strong focus on maintaining the facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise the daily operations of the ice rink.
* Oversee maintenance and repair of ice rink equipment and facilities.
* Ensure the ice surface is maintained to the highest standards.
* Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
* Coordinate with vendors and contractors for facility repairs and upgrades.
* Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
* Train and manage staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
* Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
* Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
* Maintain records of maintenance activities and operational performance.
* Assist and work closely with the General Manager on administrative tasks and strategic planning.
* Support the General Manager in implementing new initiatives and improving operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
* Multi skilled in carrying our maintenance tasks including site level carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating
* Proven experience in operations and maintenance management, preferably in a recreational facility.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Preferred knowledge of ice rink equipment and maintenance procedures.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic computer skills for record-keeping and scheduling.
