Overview
Stanton House are partnering with a PE-backed energy services group is seeking a Group Tax and Compliance Manager to join its Head Office in Aberdeen. Reporting directly to the Deputy CFO, this is a high-impact role overseeing the Group’s global tax strategy, compliance, and reporting across multiple international jurisdictions. This opportunity offers the chance to shape and implement the organisation’s global tax framework, ensuring compliance, optimising efficiency, and supporting strategic decision‑making in a dynamic, multinational environment. You will play a key part in minimising tax risk, enhancing governance, and driving continuous improvement across the Group’s financial control environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver a global tax strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Oversee all tax compliance and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate filings and disclosures.
* Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance in line with OECD guidelines.
* Advise on tax implications of M&A, restructuring, and cross‑border transactions.
* Lead tax audits and maintain relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
* Oversee wider financial compliance, including SOX, anti‑bribery, and AML requirements.
* Support internal and external audits, ensuring effective controls and governance.
* Provide training and guidance to finance teams on tax and compliance best practice.
Candidate Profile
* Professional qualification (CTA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in a senior international tax role, ideally within a multinational or Big Four environment.
* Strong knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and international tax frameworks.
* Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven experience managing cross‑border tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
* Commercially astute, analytical, and detail‑oriented, with a proactive mindset.
* Experience within the energy or oilfield services sector (desirable).
