Overview
Special Education Needs Tutor role at TieTalent, based in East Yorkshire. Core subject tutoring (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, and other additional educational needs. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet needs.
This role is suitable for qualified SEN/SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed setting to engage learners and improve their educational journey. You will be supported by our SEN/SEND Support Specialists and work as part of a child-centered team.
Responsibilities
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD or other Special Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support learners referred by local authorities and schools, assisting their educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
* Plan each tutoring session and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual needs
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress

Requirements
* Professional teaching qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist with cost)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online work
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting health, safety and wellbeing of children
Employment status
* Engagements as a Worker for short-term opportunities on a contract-for-service basis
* Paid via PAYE; no guaranteed fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers the work performed
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
