Atom Education continues to work with Young Offender Sites and Secure Training Centres.We have Young Offenders Institutes in the South East of England looking for a variety of experienced and qualified Teachers, Learning Support Assistants and Functional Skills Teacherswho could help supporttroubled young people aged 15-18.
You’ll develop young people-centred teaching and learning strategies in order to contribute to excellent achievement and progression. You will prepare and monitor appropriate syllabuses, schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments, assessments and learning outcomes in line with awarding body requirements.
It is essential that youhave aDegree or equivalent professional qualifications, or extensive experience in your specialist area. Ideally possession of a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), or willingness to work towards a qualification.Experience of teaching accredited qualifications from your specialist area from Entry Level to A Level.Experience of working as a member of a team and evidence of the ability to work effectively with colleagues. It would also be required that you can demonstrate an awareness of the pastoral and the academic needs of young people from a variety of backgrounds, and the ability to respond to those needs positively and sensitively.Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
The Clients at these sites are responsible for the delivery ofeducation to young people aged 15 to 18 who are on remand, convicted and sentenced.
