An exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join a growing group (AXIS, Access eXtract and Integrate Safe Data) within the Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU). This role will help establish and expand The Pre-hospital Research and Audit Network (PRANA). PRANA aims to create an end-to-end research-ready database, addressing the current lack of scalable research methods from pre-hospital critical care to patient outcomes. Additional connections to datasets such as traffic collision databases will also be integrated into PRANA. This resource has the potential to significantly impact emergency medicine treatment and governmental policy.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, especially in transforming datasets and maintaining data pipelines across organizations and systems. The primary focus will be to interact with various data sources to create data pipelines that facilitate data delivery into a central database. This involves establishing the database and data flows that expand PRANA. Subsequent research will utilize this data by our team and external researchers. PRANA will be hosted in the NHS Sub National Secure Data Environment (The Wessex SDE), so experience with healthcare data and secure environments is desirable.
