As a Care and Support Worker, you will support people with learning disabilities living in a variety of settings, in line with agreed support and care plans, in all aspects of their everyday lives.
You will deliver practical, physical and emotional support to people with learning disabilities, whilst proactively promoting choice, independence, and self-determination.
Person Centred Support
Provide high-quality support to people with learning disabilities in line with L'Arche values, policies and procedures;
Support of people with learning disabilities
• Assist with the personal hygiene, dress and health needs of individuals in their home;
• Building an atmosphere of mutual relationships
Foster positive relationships with both assistants and people with a learning disability;
• Assist in celebrations and support spiritual life so that there is an atmosphere of welcome and friendship;
L'Arche Highlandis a Community of around 132 people, including folk with and without learning disabilities, Support Assistants, volunteers, friends and neighbours, based in Inverness. We are part of a global network of communities where people with and without learning disabilities live and share in life together, working for a world where we all belong. We also support people to live in their own properties.
We provide supported living opportunities in one of our four shared houses, keeping that original community spirit, or to folk in their own homes, depending upon preference and need. This support ranges from 24/7 one-to-one support to 40 hours per week. This role is to support a person with learning disability living independently in their home in the Holm area of Inverness.
