Looking for a new part‑time job where you can make a real difference and be a reliable support person? Our amazing Team Halliday in Peterhead are now looking for one or two caring and reliable individuals to join us on a part‑time basis (12, 14 or 26 hours per week).
Responsibilities
As a Support Practitioner you will become part of a friendly team providing invaluable support to a young gentleman with autism who lives in his own home. You will build a genuine relationship and help him:
* Cook a meal
* Achieve personal goals
* Try new activities
* Engage in hobbies such as swimming, walking, golf range, outings, meals and drives in the car
* Feel understood and supported in daily living
Supporting Skills and Requirements
* Full manual driving licence (necessary for using his mobility car)
* Confidence to support in the water (swimming is a regular activity)
* Good listening and communication skills
* A caring attitude and approach
* A positive approach to learning
* An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
* Confidence in the use of computers
* Willingness to engage in shift patterns including sleepovers (receive additional £100.80 for each sleepover)
Training and Development
We recruit on values and provide all the training you need. We will pay for your training and fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification, PVG costs and SSSC registration fees. Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare, with support from our Training Academy.
Shift Patterns
Our shift patterns are designed to provide 24/7 support:
* Monday‑Friday 15:15‑23:00 or 07:00‑09:15 (includes a sleepover)
* Weekend shifts on a rotational basis: 09:00‑16:00, 16:00‑23:00 and 07:00‑09:00 (includes a sleepover)
The sleepover part is not included in your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional £100.80 for each sleepover worked.
