The Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs is acritical role in Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an individual experiencedin corporate governance with the highest levels of integrity to guide our staffon a number of complex matters.
This is a unique opportunity to support ourDirector of Corporate Affairs who works across two Foundation Trust (TheRotherham NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley Hospital NHS FoundationTrust). You will be responsible for theday to day management of the Corporate Affairs team based on the Barnsley sitewith the opportunity to develop partnership working with the Deputy Director ofCorporate Affairs on the Rotherham site.

Main duties of the job
The Deputy Director ofCorporate Affairs supports the Director of Corporate Affairs in ensuring thesmooth running of the Trusts formal governance arrangements at Board and BoardCommittee level in addition to supporting the Council of Governors.
You will lead and develop ofteam, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient service is provided to the ChiefExecutives office, Non-Executive Directors, Governors and Senior Managers.
In addition, you will adviseon complex governance issues, interpreting issues of policy, legislation andgovernance and recommending appropriate courses of action. This will include but not be limited tomaintaining the Trusts Constitution and other key governance documents.
Attend all Board Committeemeetings and deliver coherence across the Trusts Committees, ensuring that theright issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Coordinate the preparation andpublication of the Annual Report and Accounts.
Line management of threedirect line reports.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent with additional management training experience to masters level or equivalent.
2. Evidence of significant personal/professional development
3. Commitment to continuing professional development

4. Membership of the Institution of Chartered Secretary and Administrators (ICSA) post graduate level qualification
5. Sound knowledge of NHS Foundation Trust governance issues
