Corporate Tax Manager, UK and Ireland

Role Overview
Reporting to a Tax Senior Manager, you will support all activities related to corporation tax for Unilever's UK and Irish companies, including work with Unilever Plc for the parent. Manage and deliver multiple work streams such as quarterly tax reporting, tax provisioning, compliance, advisory on projects, forecasting and HMRC liaison. Serve as a tax business partner, building relationships with stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
* Corporation tax business partnering
o Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, legal, company secretarial, third‑party outsourcers, etc.
o Respond promptly to ad‑hoc queries and commercial issues.
o Collaborate with finance, M&A and project teams on tax and commercial projects.
o Support entity rationalisation projects.
* Corporation tax compliance and reporting
o Prepare group quarterly tax provisions using Longview.
o Review statutory accounts disclosures from outsourced provider.
o Oversee annual tax computations and returns.
o Conduct technical analysis (chargeable gains, SSE, deductibility, RDEC, patent box, transfer pricing adjustments).
o Perform UK CFC review and support SAO review and controls.
o Manage withholding tax compliance (UK WHT, residency certificates).
* UK and Ireland Group Tax Data
o Manage Group Payment Arrangement and calculate CT payments on account.
o Maintain tax payment database to track UK cash tax position.
o Liaise with HMRC and ROS on balances, repayments, reallocations.
o Calculate and prepare journals for prior‑year adjustments and internal charges.
o Produce cash tax and CIR forecasts.
o Review tax balance sheets for correct entity book entries.
Skills / Experience / Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (ACA/CA or equivalent) or tax adviser (CTA or equivalent).
* 3+ years’ experience in a UK corporate tax department, or an audit background with at least 1 year in UK corporate tax.
* Strong understanding of tax accounting (IFRS & FRS 101).
* Controls mindset, risk management.
* Excellent time and project management, bias for action.
* Relationship building and stakeholder management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Strong Excel skills.
