About the Department
The department is in an exciting transition phase with a 10‑year, £40m programme of equipment replacement and refurbishment. Two acute sites – Basingstoke and Winchester – provide radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI and interventional radiology services. The Winchester site houses the hyper‑acute stroke unit and is developing a cardiac CT service; the Basingstoke site hosts tertiary oncology and trauma units.
Community Diagnostics
The Andover site is being developed as a Community Diagnostic Centre, offering a newly developed CT and MRI unit, radiography, Dexa and ultrasound. Smaller community imaging facilities also exist at Alton Community Hospital. Tertiary links are in place with Southampton, Oxford, Guildford and Frimley.
