2. Part time hours. We are looking for 2 days a week: either Monday and Tuesday or Monday and Friday.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the lead practice nurse.
5. Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
6. Cytology
7. Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
8. Removal of Sutures
9. New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
10. Travel Clinic
11. ECGs
12. Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
13. Venepuncture
14. Hypertension Management
15. Ear syringing
16. Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
17. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
18. Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
19. Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
20. Interest in Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
21. Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
22. Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
23. Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
24. Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician.
25. Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
26. Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets as instructed by partners and Practice Manager
27. Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
28. Ordering of stock from the District Hospital
29. Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
30. Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
31. At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
32. A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
33. DOAC Monitoring Books
34. Recalls & Searches
35. Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
36. Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
