Position Description
We are looking for a Senior Computational Scientist to join our Genomic Services team to help with our mission of enabling investigators, institutions and industries around the world in answering their research questions, by providing support data analysis and interpretation with existing or dedicated solutions. This position offers a critical opportunity to contribute to the Genomic Services team by developing and executing tailored data analysis strategies. The focus will be on processing and interpreting NGS and PCR-based assay data, building robust computational pipelines, and driving actionable insights for internal stakeholders and external customers in life sciences.
Your Tasks
* Conduct genomic services projects: study design, analysis and interpretation, planning and data management/data curation, documentation to meet timelines and satisfy customer needs.
* Design, implement, refine, use data analysis workflows for genomic projects using proprietary and/or open-source tools and technologies.
* Contribute to computational strategy development or solution development in support of internal goals and customer needs.
* Maintain, update and curate automated reporting systems aligned with specific service offerings.
* Maintain, update and curate internal documentation, data archiving and software/IT infrastructure.
* Deliver clear and actionable insights and timelines for cross-functional internal projects.
* Communicate analytical outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and precision.
Position Requirements
* Strong expertise in genomics and data analysis for next-generation sequencing (NGS) or other complex biological data (required).
* Experience developing analytical pipelines and custom analyses (required).
* Proficient in scientific programming with R or Python, and with Unix/Linux environments, including Bash scripting (required).
* Solid foundation in mathematics and statistics (required), ideally including statistical design of experiments.
* Effective communicator with the ability to present complex data to non-experts and produce clear technical documentation in English (required).
* Skilled in using common bioinformatics tools and resources; experience with relational databases (SQL) and data integration (plus).
* Knowledge of version control (Git), product development tools (Confluence, Jira), HPC, and AWS environments (plus).
* Experience collaborating with both wet-lab and computational scientists; familiarity with clinical or biopharma knowledge and settings (plus).
