About the role
Post Title: Adult Learning Tutor for Stained Glass, BSL, Photography, English & Maths Functional Skills
Team: Adult Learning Service
Bury Adult Learning Service is a key provider of adult and community learning in the borough of Bury. Rated as Good by Ofsted in November 2021, we focus on putting learners and the community at the heart of our work.
We are seeking tutors for the 2025-26 academic year to deliver accredited and non-accredited courses at our main centre in Bury and various community venues.
Requirements
* A recognised teaching qualification at Level 4 or higher (e.g., Certificate in Education, PGCE, Diploma in Education & Training).
* A recognised subject specialism qualification at Level 5 or higher.
* Strong organisational skills for effective planning, preparation, delivery, and record-keeping.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including some evenings.
Desirable Experience
* Experience teaching Photography, BSL, or Stained Glass.
* For English & Maths, experience delivering Functional Skills from Entry to Level 2 in adult/community or FE settings, with an inclusive and innovative teaching approach.
Our tutors typically work between 8 and 16 hours per week, including planning and follow-up, with specific requirements discussed at interview.
