Our public sector client are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join them on a temporary basis. Location – Coalville Pay Rate – £19.29ph-£20.22ph The role is to provide the full Finance Business Partnering function for designated revenue services and assisting with closure of historic accounts and publication of Statement of Accounts. Key Responsibilities: * Partner with service areas to provide expert financial advice, promoting efficiency, accountability, and strong resource management. * Produce timely month-end financial monitoring reports and support services in reviewing and challenging budgets. * Contribute to the annual Statement of Accounts and support key projects with financial input. * Lead or support work in a designated finance specialism. * Build strong working relationships with managers to support business performance and identify commercial opportunities. Additional Duties: * Identify and suggest service improvements with a customer-first mindset. * Support a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. * Participate in appraisals, training, and development activities. * Uphold health & safety and equality standards in line with council policies. * Assist during civil emergencies and undertake other tasks as required to support the wider team. Experience & Qualifications Required * AAT qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a financial environment, or significant demonstrable experience in finance. * Proven experience in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial analysis. * Solid understanding of statutory accounting and reporting requirements. * Knowledge and experience in accounting for Housing Revenue Accounts (HRA). * Strong grasp of general accounting principles and financial procedures. * Proficient in using integrated financial systems. * Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word or equivalent software. * Ability to analyse, interpret, and clearly present financial and performance data to support decision-making
