The Role
Tameside Council is seeking a dedicated and proactive CCTV Operator to join our Community Safety team. Are you passionate about creating safer towns and neighbourhoods? Are you vigilant and thrive on supporting people and emergency services in challenging situations? If so, we want you on our team!
This is a vital role in helping to maintain safe, inclusive, and respectful communities across Tameside. As an CCTV Operator, you will be the eyes of the borough working closely with partners in making Tameside a safer place to live, work and visit.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, local geographical knowledge, good observational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a customer-focused approach. Basic IT skills and familiarity with CCTV systems are desirable, and the role requires flexibility to work nights and weekends. This role is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English in the person specification.
