SLB’s Abingdon Technology Centre specializes in reservoir simulation and engineering, developing industry-leading tools and workflows. We seek a dynamic mid-career Reservoir Engineer to join our software development team as we support the energy transition to low-carbon solutions.
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Engineer (Reservoir Engineer) will validate the applicability and quality of newly developed software solutions, leveraging reservoir engineering expertise.
Typical Responsibilities and Duties
* Review software requirement documents and provide input to improve product deliverables.
* Design, create, review, organize, and execute test strategies, plans, and suites in collaboration with the development team.
* Conduct independent studies, data analysis, and evaluations during testing of new products and services.
* Identify, analyze, and prioritize technical problems impacting product quality.
* Develop automated tests to support regression testing.
* Track testing progress and report results using designated systems.
* Ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria for release.
* Proactively identify and escalate project risks.
* Assist in planning and testing incremental releases or new versions.
* Provide training and technical support to engineers, R&D, field teams, and customers.
* Participate in joint case studies and technical reviews.
* Propose new development areas and technical solutions aligned with company strategy.
* Support product and service introductions, including marketing and training materials.
* Contribute to innovation activities and university collaborations.
* Assist in recruiting efforts.
* Comply with company policies and complete safety training.
Qualifications
* Advanced degree (Masters) in reservoir engineering or related field.
* Experience through work placements or internships in reservoir engineering roles.
* Knowledge of Petrel technologies or reservoir simulation is advantageous.
