Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic Project Manager to manage and coordinate the successful delivery of equality charters. The role will ensure stakeholder engagement throughout the development, monitoring and implementation of action plans and will coordinate self-assessments which evaluate the experiences of our university community. Our equality charters are managed as university wide, long-term projects.

Responsibilities

* Lead the planning and delivery of specified, complex projects, including collaborative action planning, monitoring, analysis and reporting, and ensure risks and issues are managed effectively.
* Engage stakeholders across the University and coordinate with the Reward, Recognition and Inclusion Team to deliver charter outputs to a high standard.
* Coordinate self-assessments to evaluate the experiences of the university community.

About You / Qualifications

* Excellent communication skills, the ability to plan and manage your own workload, and an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion. You will be a positive and proactive problem solver who can manage conflicting priorities and work well in a team.
* A skill level equivalent to achievement of HND, Degree, NVQ4 or a basic professional qualification. Proven project management skills including knowledge and experience of project management techniques and tools.
* PRINCE2 Practitioner or an alternative project management qualification is desirable but not essential.

What We Can Offer You / Benefits

* A total of 44 days leave per year (annual leave, bank holidays and University Closure days).
* Flexible working options and generous family leave arrangements (including maternity, paternity, adoption, parental and carers leave).
* A wide variety of on- and off-campus arts and culture facilities.
* Access to staff discounts and offers at local shops, restaurants and service providers, including the cycle to work scheme.

All our benefits can be viewed here: Benefits explained | Human Resources | University of Southampton.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants who support our mission of inclusivity. We encourage flexible working and consider applications from those returning to work after a career break.

If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact Becky O’Selmo, Equality Programme Manager, via email at R.E.Oselmo@soton.ac.uk.

Interviews will be held on 2nd and 3rd October 2025.
