This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Worker to join our team here in Gateshead. As our Housing and Property expert, you’ll support our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation.
Responsibilities
* Support customers to ensure their homes are safe, well maintained and that they are engaged in their tenancy.
* Help customers with housing benefit claims and ensure these are reflected on their rent accounts.
* Turn around vacant or void properties within set timescales, which involves practical tasks as needed (e.g., cleaning, painting).
* Carry out and record routine safety and compliance checks in buildings and communities to ensure compliance.
* Manage admin tasks including updating records, ordering, and arranging payment for works to be done.
You bring
* A background in property management, though this is not a deal breaker; experience in environments with compliance and health and safety checks is helpful.
* A “can do” positive attitude, proactive, well organized, and able to work on your own initiative.
* A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help customers.
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and external partners; comfortable influencing people from diverse backgrounds.
* Confidence working with others to ensure properties are maintained to high standards for customers.
* Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we cannot offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.

Job details
* Monday to Friday 9-5
* Based at our service in Gateshead with travel to properties in the patch, predominantly Leam Lane and Deckham
* Ability to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy sign-ups
* Vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage paid
* Enhanced DBS check required and paid for
