Production & Planning Manager Location: Newcastle Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent Wolviston Management Services are supporting our fantastic client with the appointment of an experienced Production & Planning Manager to lead their busy assembly operation. This is a key role within a growing electrical manufacturing environment, responsible for driving an efficient production schedule, maintaining exceptional delivery performance, and leading a team of around 30 manufacturing operatives. You'll play an important part in shaping production processes, championing best practice, and ensuring the operation meets consistently high standards of safety, quality, and output. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring all processes run safely, reliably, and efficiently against agreed KPIs. Manage and deliver against strict On Time In Full (OTIF) targets, working closely with transport and operations to ensure customer commitments are met. Lead the execution of production plans, maintaining quality standards and driving continuous improvement across all manufacturing areas. Conduct daily production meetings, capturing actions and ensuring timely resolution. Carry out root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are consistently followed across the team. Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the workplace. Conduct regular one-to-ones, coaching and developing team members to support performance and progression. Address performance concerns in partnership with HR, ensuring fair and consistent management. Ensure all staff are fully trained and equipped with the right tools and resources to meet production requirements. Experience & Qualifications Proven experience (5 years) in Production and Planning Management within a manufacturing environment. Strong background in electrical wiring, electrical unit assembly, or similar industries. Hands-on experience in managing production, assembly, and warehousing teams. Excellent data analysis skills to support decision-making and performance improvement. Demonstrable experience in mentoring and developing operational teams. Strong leadership style with the ability to build a positive, motivated, and high-performing culture. Lean Manufacturing experience is essential. Full UK driving licence
