Cover Supervisor
Location: NG8, Nottingham
Pay: £95 - £140 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, term time only
Start Date: May 2026
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
A secondary school in the NG8 area is looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join the team from September. This role would suit someone with experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, coaching or youth work setting. It may also suit graduates considering teacher training in the future.
The successful candidate will supervise classes during short-term staff absences, ensuring pupils remain on task and follow the work set by teaching staff. You will work across different subject areas and year groups, so confidence in managing behaviour and communicating clearly is important.
Responsibilities
Deliver pre-set lesson work to classes across KS3 and KS4
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
Support pupils to stay focused and complete assigned tasks
Record attendance and report any issues to teaching staff
Provide feedback following lessons where required
Maintain a calm and professional classroom environment
Requirements
Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
Good communication and classroom management skills
A calm and reliable approach
GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
Right to work in the UK
