At Oakwoods Care Home, we pride ourselves on providing a warm, family-focused environment where residents feel safe, cared for, and valued. To support this, we are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring our home is safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out day-to-day maintenance tasks including painting, decorating, plumbing, electrical, and heating jobs.
* Responding quickly and effectively to reactive maintenance issues.
* Supporting and overseeing larger refurbishment or repair projects, liaising with outside contractors where needed.
* Maintaining records of checks and repairs in line with care home regulations.
* Ensuring health & safety standards are always met.
About You
We're looking for someone who is practical, positive, and approachable, with a can-do attitude. You should:
* Have general maintenance skills (basic plumbing, electrics, and decorating experience essential).
* Be able to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks.
* Work well as part of a team but also be confident working independently.
* Be friendly and respectful, comfortable working in a care home environment around elderly residents.
* Take pride in your work and help us maintain our high standards of care and comfort.
Why Join Us?
At Oakwoods, we're more than a workplace – we're a family. We offer:
* A welcoming and supportive team environment.
* Competitive pay.
* The chance to make a real difference in the lives of our residents every day.
If you're someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and wants to be part of a caring community, we'd love to hear from you
