About the Role

Role: Local Government Business Development Executive

Location: National - based out of any SCC office. London, Bracknell, Manchester, Birmingham or Leeds. SCC operates hybrid working, which comprises a mix of office and home working.

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Salary Package: £60,000 - £70,000 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid volunteering days a year

Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

1. Prospecting and qualifying new business target customers or new revenue lines within existing customers. Articulate customer challenges and create joint plans with Business Units to propose suitable solutions, driving a blend of Product and Services aligned with company vision.
2. Identify, develop, and campaign sales opportunities based on customer and market insights, ensuring alignment with client strategies, objectives, and challenges.
3. Provide campaign leadership: lead and coordinate virtual internal and external teams on all sales opportunities.
4. Maintain, expand, and strengthen engagement with vendors and partners within the account base to drive sales growth and margin.
5. Perform account relationship profiling, develop engagement plans in SalesHub, and undertake regular campaign and opportunity planning to maximize sales effectiveness. Manage activities of virtual teams to build close plans to meet targets and balance services and product sales.
6. Work effectively with SCC solution experts to define the right propositions for specific client requirements.
7. Build and manage a 'rolling pipeline' of new business opportunities, ensuring robust qualification for high deal closure rates. Maintain accurate forecasts in SalesHub and grow contacts, campaigns, and customer data. Develop marketing plans targeting specific customers, sectors, or regions to enhance margins.
8. Manage, grow, and maintain customer relationships at all levels, involving senior SCC executives as appropriate.
9. Identify opportunities and risks to SCC operationally, commercially, and legally, considering financial imperatives such as using Payment Solutions to maximize in-year margins.
10. Develop industry knowledge to generate specific propositions and messaging, enhancing customer engagement and opportunity creation.
11. Demonstrate experience in technology infrastructure and services sales, successfully driving enterprise projects into FTSE 500 and/or Public Sector organizations with framework experience.
12. Possess extensive knowledge of technology and services aligned to business outcomes, with effective communication skills at all client levels.
13. Have proven experience selling IT Consulting, Professional and Managed Services, and/or Software and Hardware solutions.
14. Maintain high business and commercial awareness, with successful negotiation experience at senior levels.
15. Have a track record of incremental new business wins and sustainable growth within client engagements.
16. Create and execute territory sales strategies.
