Job Description
As Corporate Security Senior Advisor, you’ll be working in a small team responsible for providing assurance that we’re addressing our security risks and fostering a positive security culture. You will serve as a role model for security, promoting good behaviours and ensuring a secure environment for our people, data, information, and physical assets.
In this role you will:
* Help the Corporate Security Manager oversee and mitigate security risks.
* Provide leadership on assessing and managing security risks, including our retained security responsibilities.
* Collaborate with risk owners across the organisation to understand, assess, and mitigate risks.
* Provide assurance to the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), EA Board, and Executive Directors.
* Partner with Defra group Security to develop security strategies, policies, and processes.
* Lead initiatives to improve our security culture through training, communication, and engagement.
* Run governance meetings to oversee security decisions.
* Maintain networks with security professionals to stay updated on the latest security developments.
The wider team manages diverse activities, and you will have opportunities to gain experience across key areas of work.

The Team
You will be part of a small, welcoming team within the Corporate Management, Assurance, and Security group, focused on protecting and empowering the organisation. You will have access to professional security advice within Defra group Security and collaborate with subject matter experts in the Environment Agency.
Experience and Skills Required
The external security landscape is complex and evolving. While you do not need to be a security professional, the following skills and experience are essential:
* Understanding of broader influences on organisational security to drive continuous improvement.
* Proven leadership skills to achieve results, foster partnerships, influence, and inspire teams.
* Ability to build effective partnerships with Defra and Environment Agency colleagues to jointly manage risks.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, and balancing demands.
* Experience in promoting cultural change, stakeholder management, communication, engagement, and implementing business change solutions is beneficial.

This is a hybrid role; you will be based at your nearest office in England with options for remote work. Some national travel may be required for meetings.
