A warm and nurturing Early Years setting in Enfield is seeking a confident and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team as soon as possible. You do not need an HLTA qualification - but strong Early Years experience is essential, especially supporting children with developmental delays, speech and language needs, or additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood development, play-based learning, and giving young children the best possible start. What You'll Be Doing: Delivering small group and one-to-one activities to support early learning goals Leading high-quality play-based sessions that develop communication, social skills, and independence Supporting the class teacher with planning and adapting activities for children with a range of early learning needs Working closely with the Early Years Lead, SENCO, and external professionals such as speech & language therapists Modelling strong practice and offering guidance to Teaching Assistants when required Contributing to observations, assessments, and next-step planning in line with the EYFS framework Helping to create a calm, safe, and stimulating learning environment What We're Looking For: Essential: Strong Early Years experience (nursery or Reception), including supporting children with SEN Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with young children and families A calm, nurturing, and patient approach rooted in play-based learning Confidence working independently with small groups or individual children Desirable (but not essential): Experience in a nursery, children's centre, or specialist EYFS SEN provision Knowledge of early intervention strategies or approaches such as PECs, Makaton, Attention Autism, or sensory-based support Experience mentoring or supporting other staff Why Join This School?
