SEMH Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision within Mainstream Secondary School (North Manchester)

Aspire People are proud to be working in partnership with a Multi-Academy Trust in North Manchester, who are seeking two experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their team. These positions will be based within an alternative provision attached to a mainstream secondary school, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who may display challenging behaviour.
About the Role:
* Full-time, long-term positions with the potential to become permanent
* Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural challenges in a mainstream setting
* Assisting teachers and pastoral staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
* Implementing tailored strategies to manage behaviour and promote engagement
* Building trusting relationships to help students re-engage with education
About You:
We are looking for dedicated, resilient and empathetic individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A UK Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) - ideal for graduates looking for school-based experience
* Recent experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
* A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
* Two years of references
* Strong communication, patience and behaviour management skills
